Bio
James Stephenson’s landscaping experience spans more than twenty years and includes numerous gardens and commercial projects in Brooklyn Heights and NYC. He studied Landscape Architecture at RISD.
James specializes in Hardscape - stone work, particularly blue stone as well as the use of brick or other stone elements for the construction of patios, walls, and walkways. He also has experience in all aspects of a garden from plants to irrigation and lighting. His many clients appreciate his friendly, personal approach to the design and implementation of each project. He was recently cited for his work in the New York Times article "A Garden Reborn", June 4, 2009 and was featured in Apartment Therapy.
James is a painter and acclaimed author of The Language of the Land. He is also a respected expert in the art of Sub-Sahara Africa. James has lived and worked in Brooklyn Heights and NYC for 16 years.
