Entertain In Style - Porch Playlist

I love to entertain and I think music is a key element for a great party just like the food and drink.  I'm crazy enough to spend hours...weeks in advance of a party creating the perfect playlist.  Not everyone has the time or desire to put together a playlist however.

Lucky for you I was one of those teenagers who made scads of mix tapes. Well I'm an adult now and nothing but the medium has changed.  Mix tapes gave way to mix CD's which gave way to my beloved iPod playlists and now through social music sites I can share my mixes with you!

In the Random House synopsis of Paula Wallace's book Perfect Porches, it points out that [this book] "illustrates how varied these iconic American spaces can be."  That statement became abundantly apparent when I put the playlist together.  By no design of my own, other than finding songs with the word porch in them, this playlist is a wonderful mix of country, bluegrass, blues, folk and jazz.  You can't get anymore American than that!
