One of my most memorable and serendipitous vacations took place in Mexico.  I was enamored with the open air living along the Riviera Maya and I long to return.  I can still feel the light breeze against my skin when I relive my memory of swinging in a hammock on the beach.  Luxury resort Rosewood Mayakobá took a contemporary design approach to the open air living and Yucatán Peninsula style and I think the result is magical.

Calistoga Ranch - California

California is one of my all time favorite vacation destinations in the US.  North, south or middle of the state it doesn't matter, I love everything about it.  I love the Californian outdoor living style.  Sunny, warm and dry days with crisp cool mostly bug free evenings that allow you to pull on pants or a sweater jacket and sit around the fire pit.  Don't even get me started on the al fresco eating experiences in California!  The Calistoga Ranch captured the Northern California outdoor living style down to the tiniest of details.  If tranquil, earthy and contemporary is what you like your vacations to look like, this is the resort for you.

Inn at Palmetto Bluff - South Carolina

In my opinion southern summers are an American icon.  When I think of summer in the south I think of homeowners fanning themselves on the front porch as they sip a cold lemonade or mint julep, Spanish moss dripping from the trees, and the close air is filled with the sound of a million singing bugs and frogs.  I think the Inn at Palmetto Bluff has captured that iconic essence beautifully in their luxury resort.  If a dose of outdoor living southern style is what you need most this year, book a vacation here.
