Edwin Blue TeamMatthew Hufft, Clayton Vogel and Jesse Hufft are three long time friends who have spent most of their business careers working in the fields of architecture, industrial design and marketing. But they had a dream to create products that exemplify the spirit and authenticity of what it means to them to be American-made. What they created was Edwin Blue.

The Edwin Blue mission is dedicated to reviving the spirit of a time that treasured things were built to last. In the spirit of American entrepreneurship their products are 100% designed, manufactured and made on U.S. Soil.

Sinker CypressThey were also determined to be an environmentally friendly as possible. While searching for a sustainable wood to use they discovered Sinker Cypress.  Sinker Cypress refers to the cypress logs that sunk to the bottom of various rivers in the U.S. as they were being floated to wood mills to be processed. At the time they were harvested they were anywhere from 100-1,000 years old  making their strength impossible to reproduce in modern, new growth cypress. They sat on the river bottoms for decades to 100 years or longer. The cold water temperatures and lack of sun light allowed sediment to collect inside the wood giving it a unique coloration. It is ideal for use outdoors due to its high oil content making it resistant to rot, decay and insect infestation.

The wood finish used is a solvent-free vegetable ester which is a combination of plant waste extract and Rosewood seed oil.  All of their furniture is hand made by designers and craftsmen in the Edwin Blue studio. Each of them have studied and trained many years in the arts and sciences of metal and wood working.  The Edwin Blue goal is to win back the reputation in Americas history when we were known around the world for the things we made. We think they are on the right track and are excited to be offering their products on Home Infatuation.
