Discover - Furnishings Fit for a Dock

Earlier in the week we wrote about outfitting the small footprint of your dock with multi-purpose and non-permanent furnishings that are easy to break down and set up. Today we are featuring specific products that will help you accomplish that goal.
La-Fete Design produces several styles of light-weight furniture made of polymeric foam with marine grade vinyl covering. The Dots and Dashes function as stools, ottomans or tables and they can be clustered together to create larger seating arrangements. They also have lounge chairs that can be pushed together to create a sectional sofa. An added benefit is if they happen to get blown or knocked into the water they will float giving you the time to retrieve them.

Folding tables and chairs that can be kept in storage until needed provide the small footprint and flexibility you need when it is time to dine or you are entertaining in greater numbers. Teak wood furniture is extremely durable and weather resistant will last a lifetime with minimal care.

We know that many docks are not adequately wired or not wired at all for electricity making it difficult to have the necessary lighting. Portable and rechargeable lights and torches with weighted stands can be the answer. The rechargeable led lights come in a variety of sizes and shapes and will float if they go overboard. The torches which burn oil or fuel gel have portable weighted bases or wall mounting brackets giving you plenty of placement options. Tabletop hurricane lanterns that use tea candles are perfect for dining or casual tables.

If you would like to decorate with plantings but are not always at the location to keep them watered properly, artificial foliage is the perfect solution. Boxwood bushes and trees, palm trees, cedar trees and flowering azalea bushes and vines are weather and UV resistant for years of continuous use. They are also light in weight for easy transport and storage when not in use.
